After passing the ServSafe® exam, the final step is to visit the Southern Nevada Health District. There, you will take a short, 10-question test on local regulations and pay a fee (currently $20) to receive your official Certified Food Safety Manager Card.
For students who have already completed their studies and only need to take the official proctored exam.
For students who have already purchased an online exam voucher and just need a registered proctor for their session.
No, they are different. The ServSafe® Manager Certification is a higher-level certification for supervisors and managers, covering in-depth food safety management. A basic Food Handler card is for non-managerial staff and covers basic food safety principles. The ServSafe® Manager card is the credential you need to be a certified manager in a food establishment.
The ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification is valid for five years.
You must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. All other materials for the exam will be provided.
You may retake the exam. According to ServSafe® policy, you can take the exam a second time after a waiting period. Please contact our office to discuss the re-testing policy and any associated fees.
The $179 package covers your study materials and one proctored ServSafe® exam session with us. After you pass, you will need to pay a separate fee (currently $20) directly to the Southern Nevada Health District to take their final local regulations test and receive your official card.
