Photo Requirements
Meeting these requirements the first time saves you a trip back. Our staff will verify everything before printing.
Size: 2" x 2"
Full color photo on professional photo paper with a plain white background.
Face forward, eyes open
Neutral expression, no teeth showing. Proper photo exposure is essential — off-color photos risk rejection.
No white clothing
Wear clothing that covers your shoulders. Avoid white — it blends into the white background. No uniforms.
No glasses
Glasses are not permitted in US passport photos. Even prescription glasses must be removed to avoid glare.
No hats or head coverings
Head coverings are not allowed unless worn for religious reasons, and a signed statement is required.
Taken within 6 months
Passport photos must be recently taken. We will make sure your photo is properly dated and meets all current State Department requirements.
How to Apply for a US Passport
We provide the photo and the application — you handle the submission. Here's what you'll need.
Fill out your application
We usually have passport applications available in-store. You can also download it from travel.state.gov.
Gather your documents
You will need: proof of US citizenship (certified birth certificate or Naturalization Certificate) and a photocopy, proof of identity and a photocopy, and proof of relationship if under age 16.
Get your photo here
Walk in to any AES of Nevada location. We'll take your photo, verify it meets all specs, and print it in minutes. We'll also give you the application form free.
Submit your application
First-time applicants must submit in person at a United States Post Office. Renewals can be submitted by mail — and for an additional fee, you can request expedited renewal.
Passport renewals are easy — mail in your application and bypass the long wait at the USPS Passport Office.
Please note: AES of Nevada is NOT the place for processing passport applications or other licensing — we simply provide top-quality photos with the exact specs required.
